Unwavering commitment to safety

At Eagle Infrastructure, safety is not just a requirement — it’s our foundational value. In every trench we dig, every bore we drill, and every fiber or conduit we place, the safety of our people, our clients, and the public comes first.

We believe every incident is preventable. Our goal: Zero injuries, Zero accidents, Zero downtime.

Safety Philosophy & Approach

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Leadership-led culture

From our executive team to site supervisors, safety is owned and driven at every level. Our Safety Director leads a robust Health, Safety, & Environmental program.

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Inspections & Safety Audits

For trenching and excavation tasks, a designated safety inspector keeps watch over each site, ensuring any hazards are identified and addressed before work proceeds.

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Protection systems standards

Whenever excavation exceeds 5 feet, we implement protective systems (shoring, sloping, shielding, or trench boxes) designed or approved by qualified engineers.

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Training, accountability & reporting

All field staff and subcontractors receive regular safety training, including hazard recognition, rescue procedures, and site-specific protocols. We maintain a confidential compliance hotline and reporting system encouraging continuous feedback.

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Technology to support safety

We leverage digital tools to replace paper-based inspections with real-time data capture and automated alerts — reducing human error and ensuring consistency across sites.

Key Safety Practices in Our Work

Safety Focus: Protective systems, sloping, soil classification, egress ladders, spoil placement at safe distance

Safety Focus: Utility locates, monitoring, pressure control, adherence to HDD best practices
Safety Focus: Conduit placement, conflict checks, shielding of utilities
Safety Focus: Atmospheric testing, ventilation, harnesses & lifelines, rescue readiness
Safety Focus: Blind spot awareness, barricades, TCPs, operator communication protocols

Eagle Infrastructure enforces key principles in all areas of work, including:

No worker enters a trench over 5 ft without protective systems in place.

Access/egress points (e.g. ladders) are located within 25 ft laterally and extend at least 3 ft above trench rim.

Excavated soils and materials stored at least 2 ft from trench edges to avoid surcharge.

All underground utilities are located and confirmed prior to digging; additional hand exposes or hydro-excavation when needed.

In confined space work (manholes, vaults), continuous atmosphere monitoring and use of proper ventilation and PPE.

Emergency Response, Measurement, & Improvement

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Emergency Preparedness

Safety is not only about prevention, but also about being ready when unexpected events occur:

  • Each site posts emergency contact numbers and establishes response protocols.

  • First aid-trained personnel are present at all active sites.

  • Rescue plans address potential trench collapses or incidents in confined spaces, with protocols to protect rescuers from secondary hazards.

  • Regular drills simulate incidents so teams maintain readiness.

Eagle Infrastructure Safety
Measuring Success & Continuous Improvement

We don’t just set goals — we track progress. Our metrics include:

  • Total recordable incident rate (TRIR)

  • Near-miss reports and root cause analysis

  • Safety audit scores

  • Field-generated improvement suggestions

At annual safety summits, safety leaders from all divisions come together to benchmark performance, share innovations, and chart the next year’s safety roadmap.
